The N44 complex is about 1,000 light-years across and is a grouping of several emission nebulae. It can only be seen in the Southern hemisphere, located in Large Magellanic cloud, our neighboring galaxy. The stellar winds and heat given off from highly luminous stars sculpt the glowing nebular gas into unique shapes. 4.1 The N44 Complex
